A perm is a method that changes the texture of the hair by winding it into curls or waves using tools such as a perming rod or rollers. Two chemical solutions are then added to the hair in order to create the perm. The first solution that is added to the hair is a waving lotion which softens the hair in order to shape it to the perming rod or roller.
